Michael & Neila first got in touch earlier in the year looking for an Autumnal elopement to their favourite place - Glencoe. They both love the hills and glens and like walking and the outdoors, so Glencoe was the perfect fit for the pair. Alyson Stewart and Glencoe Bagpiper were free for their day as well as local photographer/videographer fairy tale productions. Together, on their day, we worked together as a team to create a special day in the spot they chose for their vows.
Glencoe Lochan is one of the most beautiful and magical spots I have come across and I love the fact you don't need to walk miles to get there as it's not always what my couples want on their wedding day! Glencoe lochan is a very romantic place, according to 'Visit Scotland website', This wood was created in the 19th century by Lord Strathcona to remind his Canadian wife of her homeland. The area around the lochan is often said to look like a miniature Lake Louise in British Columbia. The picturesque and serene lochan nestles in the centre of the wood surrounded by majestic, but wild and dramatic conifers and rugged mountains, and there are waymarked trails through the ornamental woodland at the foot of Glen Coe.
Afterwards, Michael and Neila went to Glen Etive to have their photos taken in a spot they took a selfie at a few years ago so we recreated this image for them on their wedding day. We captured the pair walking through the glen with Neila's cardigan with her new married name sewed onto the back (a lovely touch!).
We then went back to Clachaig Inn to toast them and capture their first pint together as a married couple. They then went back to their hotel where later they would have a relaxing meal together and spend a further night in their hotel in Glencoe. Wishing you both all the best for the future!
