This couple travelled all the way from USA to have their elopement at the most special, ancient place. Marley & Tim were looking for an elopement which reflected their personalities and beliefs. Emily Porth at Heart of Yew ceremonies met with us at the foot of St Anthony's Chapel Ruins for the couple's heartfelt ceremony which included a hands fast and Quaich exchange. The couple felt they would like their spirituality reflected within their Scottish ceremony and Emily Porth was the perfect fit for the couples beliefs. Taking a moment to reflect during the couples ceremony allowed everyone to feel the history surrounding us. St Anthony's Chapel is believed to have been built in the early 15th century. within Holyrood park, Mesolithic and Neolithic stone and flint tools found in Holyrood Park reveal human activity on the site since at least 5000 BC.
The history surrounding this site is one big factor for couples choosing this spot as well as the stunning views over the city of Edinburgh.
Marley and Tim took a stroll after their ceremony to Dunbar's Close gardens where they celebrated with a dance and some more beautiful moments captured of the pair in Edinburgh's secret garden. Dunbar's Close is another favourite of mine for ceremonies in the heart of Edinburgh. The couple then had their photographs taken on the Royal Mile and within another close just off the Royal Mile. Outlander used a few of these spots in their filming which feature in the series.
Afterwards, the couple planned a romantic meal in Edinburgh City Centre. Wishing them all the best for the future!
